Low Transmission Fault During Calibration
Candela Gentle Lase/Max Pro Fault 15.1 , On some models like the GentleLase / GentleMax Pro, this error specifically refers to a low transmission fault. During calibration, the laser measures how much energy is transmitted through the fiber compared to what was sent in. If transmission is too low, the system triggers Error 15.1
Recommended Troubleshooting Steps
Take the delivery system out of the laser, hold the distal (machine) end up to a light source. Look through the proximal end—if it doesn’t transition from dark to light, the fiber is broken. If it does, the problem lies within the machine’s internal optics.
If the transmission is above 60%, clean the handpiece optics, that may resolve the problem ( most common handpiece optics need to change ) .
If the transmission is 0%, the fiber is likely broken and needs replacing.
